초록
We have rigorously calculated for the first time all the inter-electrode and the pixel impedances of thin-film transistor liquid crystal displays using the total electrostatic energy and the total power dissipation inside a liquid crystal cell. The electrostatic energy and the power dissipation were obtained from the three-dimensional profiles of the potential distribution and the molecular director profiles. The effect of the lateral fields generated by multiple electrodes of finite sizes were taken into account in the simulation. As a results, we confirmed that the pixel capacitance and the pixel resistance obtained from the three -dimensional simulation are about 40% larger and anout 15% smaller than those obtained from the conventional approach
