초록
This paper is first report about a hull form development for a passenger ship of trimaran type in Yellow Sea which is composed of a slender main hull and two side hulls. On the first step, a proto-hull form is designed and a numerical simulation program for flow around the hull form of trimaran type is developed. Resistance tests are carried out by varying side hulls position to know the influence of side hulls on the resistance. For the development of designed hull form, the resistance test result of proto-hull form, service line and the principal dimensions of existing hull forms are considered carefully. Resistance tests and numerical simulations for the designed ship model are carried out to know the resistance characteristics of the designed hull form. The model tests are performed at Inha Univ. towing tank. For the numerical Simulation, a finite difference method based on the MAC method is adopted.
