0.2AgNbO3-0.8(K0.5Na0.5)NbO3 perovskite solid solution and partial substitution with lithium

0.2AgNbO3-0.8(K0.5Na0.5)NbO3[AKNN] piezoelectric ceramics and AKNN substituted with lithium(Li) have been synthesized by the conventional solid state reaction method under air atmosphere. AKNN solid solution as a base material allows us to design a new class of material with low toxicity and high piezoelectric performance. AgNbO3 enhances the sinterability of KNbO3-NaNbO3 [KNN] and improves the thermal stability of the piezoelectric properties of the KNN-based ceramics. Lithium(Li) was used for partial substitution thereby enhancing the piezoelectric and dielectric properties. However, addition of more than 3mol% of Li led to the formation of extra phase. The highest Tc was obtained for 2mol% Li addition at 1kHz.
