초록

It is well known that PCB(Printed Circuit Board) is complex mixtures of various metals, oxides and organic materials. Pyro-metallurgical process is adopted to extract valuable metallic components from PCB scrap. Recycling of used electronic component is important from two viewpoints. One is it prevents pollution and the other is economical benefit can be obtained from rural resources as electronic industry increases. Experimental conditions for the complete calcination and oxidation of organic materials in PCB scrap are explained and a quantitative analysis of oxidized PCB scrap is also carry out. Briquette-making is found to be an important process in high temperature melting process and the procedure for making briquette is explained. It was found that 55% of pretreated PCB scrap was composed of various oxides and, in particular, SiO2 was the major component. In order to extract valuable metals from the pretreated PCB scrap, metals in the sample have to be efficiently separated from the oxides. Therefore, a proper slag system with low melting point and low viscosity has to be provided in the pyrometallugical process. Commercial thermodynamic package, Factsage, is used for finding such optimum slag systems and the results will be explained in the presentation.
