A Study on the Evaluation Index Development of Barrier Free Certification for Unit Plan in Apartment Houses

초록

Currently, Barrier-Free (BF) certification is primarily focused on public buildings. However, in light of the increasing number of elderly individuals and persons with disabilities due to an aging society, it is essential to implement BF certification for the evaluation of individual apartment units. Therefore, this study aims to develop certification indexes for apartment households in preparation for an aging society. To develop the evaluation indexes for households in apartment buildings, primary evaluation indexes were selected through a review of the literature and related prior research. Additionally, a focus group interview (FGI) was conducted to determine the dimensions of the selected primary indexes and to refine the evaluation indices. Through a total of three Delphi surveys, 48 BF certification indicators for apartment units were developed, covering various spaces within a unit household, including the porch, living room, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, balcony, and other facilities. To effectively implement the BF certification indexes for apartment unit households developed in this study, institutional support, such as easing the floor area ratio, should be provided when acquiring certification.
