Seasonal variation of the underground electrical resistivity structure as caused by pumping air into an old waste disposal site in Korea

This is summarized a series of electrical resistivity tomographic surveys conducted in the SanoDong Waste Disposal Site, Kuri City, Korea, in 1998 as part of the first steps towerd its reclamation. Main emphasis is here given to monitor seasonal changesof the ground resistivity structure following air pumping into the ground. Just prior tp air pumping, the resistivity falls within a range of 60 ~ 80 ohm·m but subsequent continual air pumping results in overall decrease of the resistivity down to 5 ~ 50 ohm·m, approaching certain asymtotic values. The decrease of the resistivity is first initiated near the air pumping area, and it spreads out in every direction but confined within the waste disposal stratum.
