초록

In the present study, effects of the meridional shape of a centrifugal pump on the hydraulic performance have been evaluated using three-dimensional Reynolds-averaged Naiver-Stokes analysis. Four geometric parameters of a centrifugal pump impeller, which are two control points for the meridional curve profiles of the impeller hub and shroud and inlet radii of the blade hub and shroud, are tested to find the influential factors at design and off-design conditions. As the performance parameters, the hydraulic efficiency at the design flow rate, the blockage at 60% of the design flow rate, and the required NPSH at 130% of the design flow rate, are selected to evaluate the hydraulic performance and reliability of the centrifugal pump. The present results show that the inlet radius of the blade hub is the most sensitive factor for the blockage and the required NPSH, among the tested geometric parameters. And, the inlet radius of the blade shroud shows strong influence on the hydraulic efficiency compared to the other parameters. On the other hand, all the performance parameters are not affected much even though the meridional profiles of the impeller hub and shroud are changed. © 2018 Begell House Inc.. All rights reserved.
