Is there any seasonal difference of peritonitis in continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis(CAPD) patients living on the temperate regions of far east area

초록

Peritonitis is one of major complications of CAPD. The climatic factors, seasonal changes of temperature and humidity are suspected to have different patterns on each four seasons of the year in the Far East Asian temperate regions. Hot season incidence of peritonitis was significantly higher than cold season. The incidence of peritonitis paralleled temperate and humidity, highest in July and lowest November. Gram negative organisms showed even distribution throughout the year.
