Enhancing Anti-Obesity Efficacy through Biomechanical Optimization of Liposome Lipid Composition
초록
Betanin, a natural antioxidant, has reported anti-obesity effects, but its practical application is limited by low biological stability(1). To overcome this challenge, liposomes were utilized as a drug delivery carrier. This study was based on the premise that the mechanical stability of the liposome membrane is a key factor in determining drug delivery efficiency, and aimed to maximize the anti-obesity effects of betanin by optimizing its lipid composition(2). The enhanced efficacy of the optimized liposomes was verified using in vitro (HepG2 cell) and in vivo (C. elegans) models. These results demonstrate the importance of optimizing mechanical properties in drug carrier design. This paper sequentially describes the synthesis and characterization of the liposomes, along with the results of the efficacy verification in biological models.
