Seismic Performance of a Double Split Tee Connections to CFT Column with Shape Menory Alloys

초록

This pater describes the strength characteristics of partially-restrained concrete filled tube (CFT) column with double split tee connections subjected to cyclic loading to simulate the earthquake. This connection includes super-elastic shape memory alloy(SMA) materials and ductile rods of high strength steel in order to provide a moment resisting frame with recentering capacities as well as great energy dissipation properties. A systematic three-dimensional nonlinear finite element analysis is performed on the structual behavior of the double split tee connections in order to investigate their rotational stiffness characteristics and failure modes. A wide scope of structural behaviors explain the influence if the connection's geometrical, mechanical and material parameters, such as the different thickness of SMA tee-stub, gage distances of SMA bars and the yield strength ratio of high strength steel. the accurate results presented here serve as benchmark data for comparison with results obtained using modern experimental tests and alternative theoretical approaches.
