초록

This paper reviews line-of-sight (LOS) optical wireless mobile communication technologies for potentially very secure and wide-bandwidth information transmission systems. Unlike RF and diffused-type optical communication systems the line-of-sight type optical wireless mobile communication systems are very critical in designing the optical transceiver for base station and moving terminals not to loose the communication channel connection. Nevertheless line-of-sight optical wireless mobile communication can be very useful especially for securely networked service robots and for the communication systems of future smart dust.
