초록
Pine pitch canker is a relatively new tree disease found in Korea, which is caused by the fungus (Fusarium circinatum). The first occurrence of this tree disease was observed in 1996. Since then the tree disease has been spreading to mainly pitch pine (Pinus rigida) forests in almost every parts in South Korea. Considering that pine pitch canker mainly occurred in sub-tropical regions, such as southern California and South Africa, its dispersion in Korea may be related to the recent changes in regional climate system. Remote sensing detection of pitch canker has not been frequently applied because of the relatively small scale damage on tree crown. In this study, we are trying to develop a method to detect tree-level pine pitch canker damages by using high spatial resolution multispectral images.
