Characterization of the Nanog 5'-flanking region in Livestock

초록

Embryonic stem cells have potential for use in research involving gene manipulated animal models and the sudy of developmental gene regulation. Among the key regulatory genes in stem cells self-renewal, the Nanog gene may play a critical role in maintenance of the undifferentiated state of embryonic stem cells in domestic animals, just line in mice and human. As a result, chicken and bovine 5'-flanking region are working efficiently in mouse ES cells as well as pre-implantation stage mouse embryos.
