The concentration change of intravitreal triamcinolone acetonide by HPLC - in vivo study
초록
Purpose: To report the concentration change of intravitreal triamcinolone acetonide in normaleyes and in eyes that underwent vitrectomy by HPLC. Methods: 64 eyes of 32 rabbits, 32 normal eyes served as controls and 32 eyes subjected to vitrectomy, were intravitreally injected in each eye with 0.1ml of sedimentated triamcinolone acetonide. Two rabbits in each group were sacrified at interval ranging from 24 hour to 41 days. The vitreous was then harvested and processed for HPLC analysis. Triamcinolone was quantitated by use of HPLC. Result: Triamcinolone acetonide was disappeared rapidly in eyes that underwent vitrectomy compared with unoperated normal rabbit eyes and concentration curve was showed different in each group. Conclusion: This study suggests that more frequent injections of triamcinolone acetonide would be necessary in eyes that underwent vitrectomy and provide adequate time for re-injection of intravitreal triamcinolone acetonide in both unoperated normal eyes and operated eyes.
