초록

A double split tee connection is a form of moment connection, which displays different behavior characteristics and failure mode based on the changes in the thickness of the T-stub, the diameter and number of high strength bolt, and the gauge distance of the high strength bolt. The double split tee connection can only perform its role as an earthquake-resistant connection by being applied in an actual steel frame when sufficient strength, stiffness, and energy dissipation capacity are realized. Accordingly, this study has been conducted to apprehend whether the double split tee connection manifests sufficient energy dissipation capacity as an earthquake-resistant connection when applied to a steel frame. The energy dissipation capacity of the double split tee connection applied to a steel frame was evaluated by conducting a three-dimensional non-linear finite-element analysis. The finite-element analysis selected the change in the thickness of the T-stub of the double split tee connection as the variables.
