초록

Construction engineers have been played a significant role in the growth of the construction industry, and their sincere efforts for the project success have also brought the rapid development in the construction technology. Despite such contributions, they are often overlooked, and engineers' liabilities in implementing construction projects have not been even clearly defined and systematically established especially for the liabilities of construction managers so far. In order to resolve this problem, this paper first examines common liabilities of the construction engineers. It then defines primary rights and obligations of the construction managers, in an effort to identify and analyze their liabilities as the professional engineer. Finally, a suggestion for the establishment of their liabilities is made in this paper. It is also anticipated that both clients and the construction managers would be able to better manage their potential risks involved in implementing and completing their projects, with greater confidence and reliability.
