초록
This study presents the strength for connection of circular column and box beam in steel piers. A Experiment has been performed for some design parameters in order to examine effective conversion length d2 that have been in serious question at existing design equations and evaluate strength of connections. Watching for recent researches, connection models have major experimental parameters which are joint angle, rectangular substitution, and insertion or not. As a result of test, connection with circular column is stronger than connection with substitution column and strength of insertion model is higher than one of non-insertion model. Also, depending on joint angle, failure shapes of connection have been classified into beam failure, column failure, and beam-column failure that have two types of failure to coexist. It being compared to existing design equation, stress distribution of circular column-box beam connection have some differences.
