영상데이타 기반 비접촉식 재료시험 방법
초록
Among the constant research of new materials, there has always been the need to test the material to determine its properties. The tensile test with an extensometer is the most common method to test the material. This technique not only requires many setups but is also very expensive. A cheaper technique with similar to more accuracy is an unmistakable need for industries now. Digital Image Correlation (DIC) is a state-of-the-art technique that will arise to this need. Digital images are processed continuously to achieve all the data required to distinguish the material property. Since the modern era has advanced to such a stage that every single person has cameras in their hand, this technique can be said to accomplish with everyday objects. This brings us to our current experiment, where we wanted to use the DIC technique using smartphone cameras and computers. Our experiment was set up by performing a tensile test on a specific material. While the test was performed, a smartphone's camera captured the entire deformation process in video form. A system is developed to measure the properties such as strain, strength, force, and stress, that only requires a good smartphone and has compared the result with the originals. In our earnest hope, the results will open up newer possibilities in minimizing the cost of research and development of new materials in the industry.
