Review of the Thermal Properties of Copper Oxide Nanostructures formed by Electrochemical Methods or Heat Treatment

Copper oxide nanostructures have drawn attention due to their abundant resources, low toxicity, and distinctive electrical and thermal properties. This review introduces recent progress in the electrochemical synthesis of copper oxides, emphasizing the influence of parameters such as pH, applied voltage or current, and electrolyte composition on the morphology of copper oxide nanostructures. In addition, various heat-treatment approaches are reviewed, focusing on their effects on crystal structure, surface roughness, and oxide layer thickness. These structural modifications significantly affect thermal properties, particularly emissivity and thermal diffusivity. Through comparative analysis of recent works, this review discusses how the integration of electrochemical synthesis and heat treatment enables precise control of nanostructure and related thermal characteristics. These insights provide a basis for developing copper oxide-based materials applicable to energy and heat dissipation systems.
