Electrochemical oxidation of wastewater with Ti/SnO2-Sb2O5 anode in the presence of chloride
초록
Electrochemical treatment of organic pollutant in waste water has attracted great interest due to rigid environmental regulations. The degradation of organic pollutant depends highly on the properties of the anode materials. Ti based SnO2-Sb2O5 is one of the preferable anode materials to generate hydroxyl radicals owing to its high overpotential for oxygen evolution reaction and lower cost compared to other metal oxides.[1-3] In this work, SnO2-Sb2O5 composite catalyst on Ti substrate for electro-degradation of organic pollutant in waste water was fabricated by thermal spray coating method, and its characterization was conducted by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). Cyclic voltammetry (CV) was carried out to evaluate electrochemical properties of the sample, and chronopotentiometry (CP) was utilized to determine electro-catalytic activities. The experimental data demonstrated that Ti/SnO2-Sb2O5 anode has excellent ability to produce hydroxyl radical, and shows high electro-catalytic performance in presence of chloride..
