어린이 재활병원 외래 공용공간의 무장애 계획 적용 연구

초록

This research examines barrier-free design applications in the outpatient common zone of a children’s rehabilitation hospital in Seoul. The study aims to assess barrier-free accessibility for child-users with physical disabilities. An assessment checklist was developed based on literature reviews to evaluate barrier-free design accessibility for children with disabilities. Four areas in the outpatient common zone of the hospital were selected and evaluated based on the checklist. As a result, outdoor access areas were more carefully concerned in terms of children’s barrier-free access. However, barrier-free facilities were not implemented sufficiently in most indoor spaces such as passage, play, and sanitary spaces. Provision and application of a design guideline for children’s barrier-free design are highly recommended, particularly in children’s rehabilitation hospitals.
