초록

The triboelectric nanogenerators (TENGs) are one of promising way for energy harvesting technology since its high energy density. Despite TENGs generation efficiency highly dependent on material’s triboelectricity, relatively less attention has been paid to material design in comparison with various device design. Herein, we report facile synthesis strategy of extremely negative triboelectric materials via blending fluorine-rich polymer, poly(2,3,4,5,6-pentafluorostyrene) (PPFS) along with elemental sulfur, which indicate significantly higher electron affinity than that of carbon backbone-based polymers. PPFS is added in-situ during the inverse vulcanization of elemental sulfur by 1,3-diisopropenylbenzene (DIB). Polymer blends were ground and hot-pressed into films, which resulting in the phase separation of the hydrophobic PPFS to the hydrophobic air interface. Highly localized PPFS polymer providing long-term stable 8-fold and 9-fold increase in triboelectric voltages and currents, respectively, in comparison with TENG based on polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), conventional negative polymeric material for TENGs. This phase separation strategy will provide insights to synthesize high performance triboelectric polymeric materials at low-cost.
