초록

In this paper, I give a semantic/pragmatic account of the difference between myen and tamyen. I introduce the notion of interpretive use defined and used in relevance theory, and suggest that ta in tamyen is an interpretive use marker. The presence of this interpretive use marker may cause the difference in the speaker's epistemic stance. I also attempt to explain more differences between myen and tamyen. Mostly I use the conditionals used in advertisements appeared on TV or in a newspaper or a magazine since it is easy to decide the speaker's epistemic stance toward their antecedents.
