Streamflow Generation by Bootstrap Method and Skewness

The stochastic models have been widely used for streamflow generation. The stochastic models use random number generating technique after the selection of a proper(or appropriate) distribution of observations. However, in the selection of a distribution, the subjective decision can be involved. And, stochastic models can reproduce the basic statistics of mean and variance of historical streamflow but the models usually do not reproduce well the coefficient of skewness. So, in this study, we suggest the Boostrap based models can be used for the preservation of the statistics like mean, variance, and the coefficient of skewness and also for the streamflow generation.
