갑상설관 낭종에 발생한 원발성 유두상암종 -1예 보고-

초록

The thyroglossal duct is reported to persist in 7% of adults and a thyroglossal duct cyst is the most common disease among congenital masses of the neck. About 1% of thyroglossal duct cysts are histologically malignant, and 80% of malignant cases are those of papillary carcinoma of thyroid. A 31-year old female with papillary carcinoma of thyroid originating in a thyroglossal duct cyst is described. Since papillary carcinoma of the thyroid was noted in the cyst by pathologic examination, primary carcinoma of the thyroid was suspected. Total thyroidectomy and neck lymph node dissection were performed. The thyroid gland revealed nodular hyperplasia and no tumor. The dissected lymph node revealed metastatic papillary carcinoma. So the tumor was considered to be primary papillary carcinoma of thyroid arising in the thyroglossal duct cyst.
