초록

In this paper we investigated the changes of surface characteristics on silicone rubbers by corona discharge treatment using dielectric barrier discharge. It is shown that contact angle was decreased gradually and surface resistivity was decreased 1.02 ×10^16 to 1.657 ×10^11[ohm/square] by corona discharge treatment. Morphological and chemical analysis were investigated by scanning electron microscope(SEM) and attenuated total reflection(ATR)-Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR). The result of the chemical analysis showed that C-H bonds and Si-CH3 bonds were broken due to corona discharge treatment. It is thought that the above changes lead to the loss of surface hydrophobictity of silicone rubber. The changes of surface characteristics on silicone rubbers by corona discharge treatment were discussed.
