The Adaptation of the Maladjusted Middle School Student through the Periodic Boxing Exercise

초록

The purpose of this study is to find the effect of regular boxing exercise program on the middle school maladjusted students. The qualitative research method was adapted. That is, the in-depth interview was performed to 4 research subjects in Kyunggi-do who had difficulty in adjusting to their middle school lives. They participated in boxing program for 3 days a week for 20 times three month. The conclusions are as follows: First, the physical efficiency was improved through the long-term regular exercise. Second, the emotional stability was gained by resolving the stress. The punching motion of boxing contributed to reducing the extensive stress of the daily school life. Third, the inter-personal relationship ability was improved. The subjects expressed their emotion frequently or endured the stress internally. Fourth, the self-esteem was increased. This result is found in those who showed the external physical change. This change is the momentum for loving him/her-self and the confidence in the personal relationships.
