OPTIMIZATION ANALYSIS FOR MAXIMIZING POWER PRODUCTION OF MULTIPLE HEAVING-BUOY-TYPE WAVE ENERGY CONVERTERS IN FRONT OF A VERTICAL WALL
초록
The goal of this study is to find the location and shape of multiple cylindrical heaving-buoy-type Wave Energy Converters (WECs) that maximize power production when WECs are installed in front of a vertical wall. The hydrodynamic characteristics of WECs were calculated using the threedimensional Frequency-domain Boundary Element Method (BEM) considering linear potential flow theory. An advanced particle swarm optimization (PSO), one of the meta-heuristic algorithms, was applied to automatically iterate the BEM program to find the optimal values of the four design parameters for the location and shape of the WEC. The fitness function is set to maximize the mean value of the power produced by multiple WECs. The calculated optimization results were analyzed and compared.
