Epitaxial growth to thin films formation of Cu2O by electrodeposition

초록

Of late, various metal oxides such as Cu2O, Y2O3, ZnO, and PbO2 have been electrochemically prepared as electrochemical deposition offers precise control over the driving force for the reactions involved in deposition and hense controlling the structure and phase composition of the films. Cu2O is a p-type semiconductor with a band gap of 2.0eV that was recently suggested as a photocatalytic material for water splitting by visible light. It is also a potential material for the fabrication of low-cost solar cells.
