characterization of bovine nanog 5'-flanking region
초록
The Nanog is belongs to homebox gene and plays an essential role in maintaining the pluripotent state of embryonic stem cells (ES cells). It is expressed in ES cells as well as EC (Embryonic carcinoma) and EG (Embryonic germ) cells, and down regulated in impolantation stage embryos. It functions with other key pluriootent factors such as OCt4 and Sox2 to control a set of target genes that ahver important roles in ES cells polriootency. In previous Murine and human studies, the Nanog genes and its 5'-flanking region have been isolated, sequenced and characterized to dlucidate their functions, however to date this has not been performed in domestic species such as the cow and pig. In this study, we have performed the first characterizatiojn of the Nanog gene and its promoter region in bovine model.
