Milled Surface Error Compensation based on the Inspection Data Using OMM System

초록

This paper presents a methodology of milled surface error compensation based on inspection database by using OMM system. First, we define a reference workpiece, manufacture it and inspect milled surface error distribution. Subsequently, it is possible to fit the inspected milled surface data by using polynomial functions. These polynomial functions allow determining the surface errors in domain of modeled cutting conditions. Based on these functional relationships between cutting conditions and surface errors, we try to compensate the tool path in order to reduce effectively the errors by using an iterative algorithm. The iterative algorithm make us can integrate changes of the cutting conditions according as tool path are corrected. To compensate the surface errors, manufacturing tolerances are also taken into account. Experimental works are carried out in order to validate the approaches proposed in this paper.
