EUS-Guided fiducial placement for cyverknife radiotherapy of abdominal malignancy

The CyberKnife frameless image-guided stereotactic radiosurgery system delivers radiation doses to tumor with high precision by use of real-time image guidance. In therapy of gastrointestinal malignancy, radiographic markers (gold fiducials) implanted at the tumor site are used as reference points by the system to target the radiation beams. Gold fiducials had been inserted per cutaneous by guiding with computer tomography (CT). It was a difficult procedure because it pass through a stomach, intrahepatic duct, and vessels. Endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS) have multiple applications in the multidisciplinary approach to tumors.
