A simple spray coating of bismuth oxide on TiO2 nanotube arrays for lithium ion battery anode materials

초록

TiO2 nanotube arrays (TNAs) are considered as proper anode materials for lithium-ion battery (LIB) due to their dimensional stability as well as high reaction surface area between electrode and electrolyte, which are closely related to high Li+ insertion / extraction rate. However, since TNAs have relatively less theoretical capacity for LIB, modification of the structure by foreign elements to enhance the electrochemical properties for LIB anodes has been intensively studied. Herein, we used simple and inexpensive spray coating method to prepare TNAs decorated with bismuth oxide for LIB anodes. The phase structure and morphology were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The electrochemical properties were studied by current discharge?charge and cyclic voltammetry (CV). The results suggest that bismuth oxide-TiO2 material can enhance Li+ ion intercalation activity and therefore can serve good performance for LIB anodes with high Li+ storage capacity and efficiency.
