초록

Recently, electric vehicle (EV) penetration has been increasing, and several motor companies have declared a paradigm shift to EVs. The increase in EV charging demands significantly impacts the power system, and it is important to develop the optimal operating system to improve the power system stability considering transportation network. However, in existing studies, EV charging is mainly controlled by power system operation, and EVs are operated by the transportation system, which does not collaborate with the integrated system. Since EVs affect both systems, it is necessary to consider the grid and transportation network simultaneously. In this study, we developed the integrated operation algorithm of the transportation network and power grid, which determines the amount of Demand Response (DR) through power flow results at the upper level and resolves traffic congestion by setting the optimal route for EVs at the lower level. To run the integrated simulation, the transportation system was configured with MATSim, and the power system was configured with the IEEE-33bus model. As a result of the integrated operating algorithm, it received high evaluation indicators in voltage stability, power loss, and average driving time. In addition, the algorithm's composition of various scenarios proves its effectiveness in various situations. © The Institution of Engineering and Technology 2023.
