concentrations and harm civilians. Also, it can be used for terrorist activities due to its simple manufacturing methods and low production costs. CWAs are weapons of mass destruction that can threaten the safety of the world, harm human life, and the living environment. Among CWAs, Mustard gas (HD) is a colorless and odorless blistering agent. It contains the sulfur chemicals which are regulated as similar to the nuclear weapons. The HD is extremely lethal that can kill people and animals in two to five minutes when HD concentration in the air reaches 30 mg/m3. Therefore, it is crucial to research on the detection of HD and its technology that can prevent loss of human life and the living environment. The essential characteristics needed to detect HD include a fast detection method, high sensitivity, rapid reaction rate, accuracy, and a miniaturized alarm system. With the advancement in new technology, several sensing technologies have been developed so far i.e., conductivity sensors, infrared spectroscopy, detector paper, liquid crystal sensors, gas detection tubes, electrochemical technology, and nanomaterial technology. However, these technologies have several disadvantageous features such as slow sensing speed, low sensitivity, and easily interfered by smoke. Hence, the consequences are alarm delay, recovery delay, incorrect alarm, and cumbersome operation.
