Surface Modeling of Epoxy Composites by Plasma Treatment

초록

In order to analyse the degradation process of epoxy/glass fiber for outdoor condition, FRP laminate was exposed to plasma. In the chemical change of plasma treatment, a lot of side-chains comprising carboxyl radical occurred on the treated surface and the hydrophilicity increased as time elapsed. In the changes of surface resistivity to measure insulating performance, the surface of untreated sample showed 3.2×1015 Ω/cm2. But, the spots of hydrophilicity treated with plasma treatment showed 9.05×1011 Ω/cm2. From the correlational results in chemical and electrostatic analysis of treated surface, the surface hydrophilicity proceeded with the generation of COO* and showed positive surface caused by the broken states of electrostatic balance.
