Analysis of Project Optimality by Economic Evaluation

The integrated river basin flood mitigation planning has a numerous of solutions with different characteristics. In oder to develop the optimal alternative, it's neccessary to estimate the flood damage, as well as to determine the degree of bearable damage. This requires the analysis of the economic efficiency within a technically feasible scope. The proposed methodology develops alternatives to the optimal project scale so that the combination of the individual proposals could be economically efficient. Futhermore, it is intended to consider both economic and engineering principles. This approach is expected to correspond to the current government's policy for avoiding the passive flood control measure based on channel-wide plan. It also pursues the basin-wide plan, focusing on damaged area by flood, thus providing tools to come up with an efficient solution.
