Factors Associated with Organizational Commitment among Hospital Nurses: A Meta-correlation Analysis

초록

This study investigated research trends through a meta-correlation analysis of hospital nurses’ organizational commitment factors. This study performed a secondary analysis using systematic reviews and meta-correlation analyses. Studies published from 2008 to 2018 were searched and extracted from academic tables. Altogether, 144 studies were used in the systematic review and meta-analysis. There were 45 variables explored regarding organizational commitment. In accordance with Schaufeli’s Energy Compass Model, these variables were classified into six groups: job demands, job resources, engaged leadership, personal resources, employee well-being, and outcomes. Job resources was moderately to strongly correlated with organizational commitment. We found a strong positive correlation between organizational commitment and positive outcomes. As the relationship between hospital nurses’ organizational commitment and job resources in various dimensions has been confirmed, it could be used for program development and research to improve the organizational commitment of hospital nurses in the future.
