팬틸트 카메라를 이용한 움직임과 얼굴 영역 검출 시스템 구현

초록

Recently the interest in motion detection and face detection/recognition has been gradually increasing in aspect of security and monitoring an indoor/ outdoor environment. This paper presents a system which detects moving object in continuous images acquired from a CCD camera. Then the system follows the moving object through pan/tilt control and searches the human face in the area of moving object. Consequently, motion detection operates as the trigger of face detection. The next image- processing will be region splitting, face recognition, feature extraction, etc. In face detection system a given hit rate shows higher than 90%. And, since the area for face detection is limited as motion area, a processing time shows more than 15fps for motion detection and more than 8fps for face detection.
