Standardization of Korean Nursing Terminology

Data were collecte nursing terms form existing nursing diagnosis, interventions and outcome classifications in first year and second year, researchers collected terms from nursing textbooks, medical, nursing and other health care dctionaries and standardized. Collected English terms and translated into Korean then the validity of translated terms was rated by 11 nurse experts who are a member of a special committee for nursing terminology. The results in the first year, 4,996 terms were standardized and in the second year, 4,029 terms were added to the standardized term pool. In conclusions, standardization of nursing terminology would contribute communication within nursing community and with other health care professionals.
