A protection system of the facilities for information and communication from lightning surges

In this work, in order to develop the reliable ways to protect the facilities for the information and communication from lightning surges, the reliability and performance of low-voltage surge protective devices were experimentally investigated in actual-sized test circuit. As a consequence, it was confirmed that the common ground system is very effective to protect electronic equipments from lightning surges. The obtained results would be useful in protecting microelectronic devices from lightning surges.
