폐타이어를 활용한 지반보강 효과

초록

Tire treads as material for soil reinforcement was reviewed. Treads obtained by elimination of sidewalls can be used to make tread-mat or to make 3-dimensional cell-type tire. In order to utilize the waste tires for geotechnical engineering purpose, laboratory test, plate load test in a chamber and pull-out test under embankment were carried out. Geogrid can be replaced partly by tread-mat which was combined by treads and geocell by cell-type tire. From laboratory and field pull-out tests, tire treads proved to be useful material for soil reinforcement without special environmental problems.
