초록
This research investigated the inter-relationships among six key motivations for volunteering (career, values, understanding, social, enhancement, and “It’s all about the Games”) on overall satisfaction and intention to volunteer in the future. After examining the antecedents and relationships among the constructs, we proposed a model and tested it utilizing data collected from 11,451 volunteers who worked in support of the London 2012 Olympic Games, and then analyzed the data by testing a structural equation model. The structural equation model’s results revealed that the abovementioned motivations had significant influence on volunteer satisfaction, which in turn was likely to increase future behavioral intention to volunteer. Among the six volunteer motivations, the value motivation was the strongest factor making individuals wish to volunteer. This research confirmed that the volunteers show a greater intention to volunteer for future events when their overall satisfaction with a recent volunteer experience is greater.
