MobileORB : Java-based Object Request Broker on Mobile Environment

The application development technologies in the mobile environment are mainly subordinate to the embedded device. According to CPU, various input devices, network, display, and user interfaces, different software and services have to be developed. This causes the difficulty in the development of software to increase depending on its complexity. Also it is difficult to develop the services whose operation is possible between different machines in the network based embedded system. So this study disigned the Java-based MobileORB. Since MobileORB can operate in the Java Virtual Machine of Mobile OS environment, it provides the standardized API which can be used without code change or conversion in mobile systems. It has the structure which enables the expansion and reduction of function through modularization. As for based on minimum CORBA specifications, it maintains mutual compatibility with the CORBA Service or existing CORBA based products.
