초록

Replacing sintered ore with DRI and pellets reduces CO<inf>2</inf> emissions by approximately 25%, but it also lowers the CaO content in the slag, negatively affecting slag fluidity and desulfurization capacity. To compensate for the reduced CaO concentration in the slag system, the direct addition of CaO was considered, and the dissolution kinetics of CaO were investigated in ironmaking slag systems with varying basicity, temperature, FeO, and MgO contents. Thermodynamic calculations were performed to express the dissolution driving force in terms of chemical potential. Indirect CaO dissolution through the formation of intermediate phases was verified using SEM and EDS analyses. No significant kinetic delay in CaO dissolution was observed within the time range examined in the present experiment. © 2025 Proceedings - ICSTI 2025: 10th International Congress on the Science and Technology of Ironmaking.
