Experimental Analysis of Power Consumption of Communication Process On Android Platform

Recent wide use of Smart phones allowed the mobile devices to be embedded in our lives furthermore. One of the key issues of these mobile devices is the efficient usage of battery as a power source. Due to the current technological limitations of the battery, many are endeavoring to minimize the consumption of the energy within the device itself. The communication function of the mobile device is one of the essential functions of the mobile devices. Most of the application programs continuously acquire information via communication function of the mobile device. However, such function or process radically decreases life span of the battery. This paper analyzes the consumption of the power for the periodic data communication over Bluetooth and WiFi network.
