초록
This paper proposes a Riccati recursion-based powered descent initiation (PDI) determination method for lunar landers. The descent motion is formulated as a finite-horizon optimal control problem using a two-dimensional affine lander model. The proposed method computes the control law through backward Riccati recursion and determines the required powered-descent distance by forward state prediction. Simulation results show that the nominal powered-descent distance is 29.26 km, and that position errors around this point increase the guidance cost and thrust requirement.
