초록

Chemiluminescence (CL) generates light through a chemical reaction, enabling optical readout without external excitation. The peroxyoxalate CL (PO-CL) system is efficient and tunable in liquid form. However, when the reagents are immobilized on a solid support and the oxidant is supplied externally, sustaining efficient and longlived emission becomes challenging. Here, we demonstrate that immobilizing a peroxyoxalate CL system within a cellulose matrix substantially enhances both emission longevity and efficiency. The cellulose-integrated CL system exhibits a 3.47-fold increase in emission duration and a 1.93-fold enhancement in quantum yield relative to solution-based conditions. The emission also varies systematically with the amount of H2O2 supplied, and, exploiting the solid format, we demonstrate the spatially resolved visualization of gaseous H2O2 as a proof of concept. This cellulose-based immobilization strategy overcomes key limitations of traditional CL systems and establishes a robust, long-duration light-emitting platform suitable for environmental monitoring, bioanalysis, and other fields requiring controlled and extended light emission.
