초록

Introduction: It is controversial whether roughened total knee prostheses are clinically desirable. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of the undersurface roughness of total knee prosthesis on clinical and radiologic outcomes. Conclusion: The more roughened undersurface (Ra = 11.6 μm) resulted in better functional outcomes and the lower rate of revision for aseptic loosening. The use of roughened undersurface of tibial baseplate would be a way to prevent aseptic loosening.
