Influence of grease viscosity on wear of gear surfaces

초록

In this paper, 3 kinds of greases with the same kind but different viscosities were selected for experiments. The purpose is to test the influence of the viscosity of the grease on the lubrication and wear of the gear surface under different stress conditions during the operation of the gear. During the experiment, different torque conditions were adopted, from low stress to high stess, and the surface wear of the gear after the experiment was observed one by one. Include wear area, type of wear, and amount of wear. In addition to taking microphotographs of the surface features of the gear after the experiment, the surface roughness of the gear was also measured, and the location of the gear wear area was also analyzed. The experimental results show that the viscosity of the grease has a great influence on the wear of the gear surface under different stress conditions.
